Not really ‘counter-culture’ per se, but interesting and definitely weird.

Two retired New York detectives are hot on the track of what they believe to be a  ‘murder-club’. The detectives claim that they have managed to link the crimes, at  least forty instances of drowning, by the discovery of smiley faces graffiti’d at the  point in which the victim entered the water. The investigators also discovered what  they believe to be ‘hints’ as to the location of as yet undiscovered bodies.

The ex Detectives, Kevin Gannon and Anthony Duarte, have yet failed to convince the local police forces of the victims, which they believe span 25 cities in 11 different states, and have now run out of funding to continue the investigation.

For more details check out the ABC News coverage, which contains a video interview with the detectives. The case has also caught the attention of the preachy conspiracy-theory-fest that is Coast to Coast.

We’ll keep you posted.
