Remember Monkey Island? Remember Monkey Island 2? Remember Day of the Tentacle?

What do you mean ‘no’? GET THE HELL OFF MY SITE!!!

Ok, so the rest of you that are left listen up(all aged 30+ , male, and possibly still have an Amiga 500 somewhere in your basement). Tim Shafer, over-lord of Double Fine productions, and god of all good adventure games, is proposing to release the first ever crowd-sourced point and click adventure game ‘for a new age’. Their target is set on Kickstarter for $400,000, with varying degrees of perks:

What’s that I hear you say? “Awww Ken, no one wants to play those anymore, fwa fwa fwa fwa.” You think so sucker? Well, in just eight HOURS, they achieved their goals, and the game is getting made:

We did it! 100% funded in just over eight hours. You people are amazing! But it’s not over yet. The number keeps going up and now the question is just how much news do we want to make with this? We’re getting a lot of attention already and it seems like this little project could have an impact beyond itself.

All money raised will go to make the game and documentary better. Additional money means it can appear on more platforms, be translated into more languages, have more music and voice, and an original soundtrack for the documentary, and more!

Your backing and comments have been truly inspiring to me and the team, so on behalf of Double Fine and 2 Player Productions I want to say THANK YOU!!!

I use a Mac these days, so you guys better start donating! I mean it; don’t make me have to reinstall Windows. You wouldn’t do that to me…would you?
