This week we talk to the most holy Rev. Ivan Stang of the Church of the Subgenius! Many topics are covered including, of course, J. R. “Bob” Dobbs, selling souls, Yeti, X-Day, Flying saucer men from planet X! and how to save YOUR soul for just $30!
We have changed the format a little bit as well; from now we’ll be advertising other podcasts and playing some cool underground music, but not enough to dilute the message of the priestly and sage-like Ivan Stang!
Background music in this episode comes in the shape of John Zorn and R. D. Burman. We also play the amazing ‘I’m not your friend, buddy (feat. Terrance and Phillip) by Self_X, as well as podcast ad’s from Eerie Radio and Podcast Pickle!

Hey, so I just interviewed the Rev. Ivan Stang of the Church of the Subgenius and even though ‘the conspiracy’ tried its best to stop us (by interfering with our connection at key moments), the interview went really well! SO! as mentioned in episode 3, the next show WILL be an interview with Rev. Stang and will be available on wednesday via the site, iTunes and all good podcatchers.
We have secured an interview with the amazing Douglas Rushkoff, but we are holding that one back until August for various reasons, the main one being a new book that we’ll hopefully get to discuss with him.
Now some of you have emailed us demanding some Aleister Crowley/occult-centric episodes, and don’t worry we are listening! We are readying our experts and episode 5 should be riddled with hidden history and Crowleyanity, so keep listening!
Anyway, thanks for all your emails and offers of help, we’ll be rolling out the new Myspace profile which is being put together by our “agent in the field” Paul ‘StuntCock’, noise-master and social networking insurgent. Paul will also hopefully be providing us with some of the coolest new crazy noise bands in his own segment in the show.

Those cool cats over at the Maybe Logic Academy have announced more courses from slackmaster-general Rev. Ivan Stang, primary word-hole for the mighty J R “Bob” Dobbs and master scribe of the Church of the Subgenius!
The Maybe Logic Academy was formed by the amazing writer, and underated thinker, Robert Anton Wilson a few years ago:
Courses are grounded in the philosophy and perspective of maybe logic, an approach which emphasizes the fallibility and relativity of perception and tends to approach information and observations with questions, probabilities and multiple perspectives rather than absolute truths. This “model agnosticism” informs all MLA courses by maintaining an experimental attitude towards any particular paradigm, theory or model of reality.
The courses are taught online using some really cool multimedia and totally original works by its teachers who include: Douglas Rushkoff, R U Sirius and Lon Milo Duquette. The aims of Rev Stang’s course are clear:
…students will have designed and developed their own religious cult to the point of marketability.
Now if only L. Ron Hubbard had thought of that?!?
Further info on the course and the Maybe Logic Academy can be found here
We continue our interview with Trey Spruance of the Secret Chiefs 3 and ASVA! In tomorrows episode we talk with Trey about the Internet and music, Occultism, running Mimicry Records and finally uncover the Weird Little Boy mystery.
I’d also really like to thanks some people! First up, Claire Nicola and Paul ‘SP’ who are dig what we are doing and are going to start contributing to the blog and podcast, which is amazing. Big thanks to Geekshow.us and Stubbadubb for mentioning the two episodes on their sites.
We have some great guests coming up; our next guest (we hope) should be Rev. Ivan Stang from the Church of the Subgenius, so keep em peeled and we’ll keep em coming!
