Split EP between Total Fucking Destruction (a Brutal Truth side project) and our favourite, scary, dress-wearing, filth-wizards Skat Injector. If my memory serves me correctly Brutal Truth were a hardcore band and I didn’t listen to hardcore because it seemed like even more of a sausage fest than plain old heavy metal. Total Fucking Destruction remain a mystery to me even after a few listens to their half of this EP. Maybe having four songs that run to a total of under five minutes explains why. I like the fragements I heard, but they are very short and very live, although you have to love song titles like “Monster Earth Mega War” and “Youth Apocalyspe Right Now”.
Skat Injector issue forth two blood streaked jets of digital grindcore. The charmingly named “Anal Suicide” which is a romantic paean to the power of true love in triumphing over adversity, and “Sworn To Sodomy” which, despite its title, is a stirring call to arms over global economic inequality. Horrible keyboards and horrible vocals combine to create a nauseating and unwholesome experience akin to Carcass covering Altern 8 or vice versa.
My favourite part of this release is the wealth of labels releasing in different parts of the world…consider the fantastic nomenclature of “Hirntrust Grindmedia” (sounds like something they use to clean abbatoir equipment), “Binjuice Erotica” (yum yum) and the awesomely named “Legs Akimbo Records”. This release is on vinyl and is limited to 300 copies and I think you should go and buy a copy.
