An EP of doomy / sludge metal that occasionally lets its hair down with a little blast of regular-speed metal or (memorably) some dubby reverb effects. All the necessary items are on display… scorched throat vocals, mondo heavy guitars, bass and drums but most importantly a sloth-like adherence to the guiding principle of sludge metal….KEEP IT SLOWWWWWWWW. I do like this release but it made me question the practice of setting up a band and being guided by such abstract rules as the tempo….but then you move on to questioning such decisions as singing in a scary voice and wearing leather, and I’m not here to doubt the guiding principles of metal. Just to worship at it’s altar.
