I first heard of Keith Rowe back in the late 90s when he co-formed the remarkable ‘MIMEO‘ ensemble. MIMEO’s music was, in my humble opinion, a bit hit-and-miss; though, when it worked, it really worked well.
When I played some of Keith’s compositions to a friend, he asked me what it was that seperates this music from some of the great ‘drone’ out there? The answer is that Rowe has carved his own way of manufacturing the sound, using a very analogue, and really quite unique method.
I’m not sure where this video originates from, but below is a very well put together introduction to a very unique and innovative artist.
