Clanking chains for beats, 80’s synths and acoustic guitar signify another quality release from Bearsuit that, yet again, makes no concession to trends and no attempt to dumb down. Is it electronica ? Post-rock ? Who knows. This EP (like pretty much everything on the label) is very enjoyable and not that easy to categorise, but it certainly nods it’s head to the blissful but slightly melancholy sounds of Tortoise while maintaining its own identity as outsider pop.
