It’s interesting that some of the labels who send me stuff do so much more often than others. If you have three albums out in a single month does that mean you’re really, really good at finding new artists or does it mean that the low cost of “releasing” a digital only album mean you can release any old guff that comes your way ? Based on this I’d say the answer was the second option. Cortex Accelera is not terrible but has such an absence of personality that I question its very existence. Make beat, loop melody, repeat, finish. There are some interesting sounds and the odd promise of substance (“Shogun Decapitator”) but they don’t even seem that interested in their own music with a good number of the tunes being more like sketches than anything.
