Watch untill the end of the 9 minutes…why?…ROVER

I have to admit, when I just watched this, I rolled my chair back from my screen and though, “they did it…they actually remade the The Prisoner”.

For those that don’t know the original, RUN to your local DVD store, friends house, ropey blog that has downloadable versions and watch the hell out of it!

The Prisoner teleported television audiences from the normal mindless, often kitch action flick, to a reality bending, politically significant (to this day), surealist, piece of post-modern art:

You can actually see some of the series (I heard all, but I’m only seeing 6 episodes) on the AMC Prisoner site:

Having watched the trailer, I have no hope. Too glossy, too daytime movie. ROVER looked rubbish, the lead was too handsome / bland. The only thing it appeared to have going for it was Ian McKellan.

I’d rather they just held up their hands and said “sorry we’ve run out of ideas” than remaking everything ever produced.

You know things are bad when they’re also remaking The Triffids.
