Glasgow venues are throwing their doors open to the alternative and subversive in 2009. The Hinterland Festival, the first of its kind in Scotland, is a ‘town take-over’ style multi-venue music and arts festival:
April 2009 will see a brand new arts and music event the likes of which has never been seen in Glasgow before. Hinterland’s primary aim is to showcase established and upcoming Scottish talent – as well as some of the UK’s best emerging and established talent – across 20 art and music venues in Glasgow.
Although none of the acts have been announced as of yet, you can be sure that the lineup will be eclectic.
The event has been getting some great coverage and even interviews with cool scottish musicians like Mandarin from BIS and Roddy Woomble from Idlewild. Be sure to keep an eye on their site, and we’ll keep you up to date with any new developments.
